Lord of the Flies Post #7

Chapter(s): 7
Character Perspective: Jack
Group: 4

Adults

I knew it. I knew it all along. There was a beastie! And Ralph insisting that there wasn't. Ha! He was probably just trying to hide the fact that he's scared of the dark. And look at the outcome. He assured everyone that there wasn't a beastie. And now, when he calls the next assembly, he's going to have to say he saw the beastie and everyone is going to be so dun because of what he did. Calls himself a leader... Yeah right. It serves him right too. Next thing you know, he'll ask everyone to make a rugger set for him and when they don't, he'll whine to me again. Make ME look like the bad guy. And when I tell him that he said I could decide what I do to help, that we want meat and my hunters and I were designated to do it, he'll be impervious to whatever I say, won't even listen, and continue whining. He thinks it's all fun and games, hunting. He doesn't appreciate how hard it is, or how experienced you have to be. and of course, when he comes hunting for the beastie, and hits a boar on the snout by luck, he decides that he's the best hunter shows off all his false bravado. He probably never did a day of hard work in his life. Before the plane crash he probably just sat around drinking rich drinks seasoned with olive brine. If we continue under his rule, we'll end up just like that littlun who got caught in the fire by accident earlier. the problem is this: Everyone thinks he rules sagely and he thinks he rules sagely, when in truth, he's almost gotten us nowhere. Now if I were leader, We would hunt and gather and dance and sing and eat and have lots of fun while keeping the fire going. He on the other hand, must think that having fun is a great taboo and will anger the sorry gods of boredom he worships. Boy, if I had been chosen as leader we would have been having a wizard time right now. Wait a minute. I'm not the kind of person who sits around and whines while not doing anything about what I'm upset about like Ralph. And his rule bothers me, that way he treats me like a slave. That's it. If they want to be worked like slaves by Ralph, that's they're problem. But I can say one thing about Ralph. He won't be getting his meat from Jack Merridew anymore. And if my hunters know what's good for them, he won't be getting any meat from them either.
