Beast

These guys are all crazy. they think there's a beast on the island... yeah right. How could a beast that big hide on an island from so many of us? But then again, if it really is a giant squid from the ocean... But no. I'm talking crazy. What reason would a squid have to come up here? Those guys are ludicrous. I think they're batty, the whole lot of them. And so much pressure! So much pressure on Ralph! Oh, I hope Ralph doesn't stop being chief, I hope he doesn't. If he did, It would take less than half a minute for Jack to be elected as chief. and with Jack as chief, I don't know what I'd do. It seems like Ralph won't hold for much longer and I don't know how much longer I can persuade him to continue being chief. Once Jack's chief all the boys will start mocking me jeeringly and Jack might even kill me. If you ask me, Jack's lost all of the decorum he claimed he had when everyone met at the first meeting. He's gaining power and he looks at me tempestuously. If Jack's chief and Me and Simon are out of the way with Ralph, They can hunt and do their stupid pig dance and incantation. Simon's been good and smart. He knows that Ralph is the best choice for chief, that we elected him, and that if he helps me support him Ralph won't give up being chief yet. But Jack with his rising power and heavy influence, I'm wondering how much longer me and Simon's support and common sense can keep Ralph as chief and hold this ridiculous, extremely dangerous, savage population of boys under the control of society.
