1. I think Yoko is helping Mr. Naido because he is treated very cruelly by the girls, and Yoko is very nice. And since Yoko helped Mr. Naido, Mr. Naido wanted to do something in return, so that is why they are helping each other. They're both shunned by the girls in the class, so they're nice to each other because they're the only friends they have in the school.
2. When she realizes that Ko is working hard and giving up her pride to help Yoko, Yoko realizes how much Ko cares for her, and how much she had cared for her throughout the whole trip, and Yoko decided it was her turn to show Ko how much she cared about her.
3. Why didn't the mayor decide to give futons out to the escapees when they came? I think it's because the mayor didn't know much about it when it happened and didn't know what he could do to help, since being the mayor is a very stressful job.

1. The girls treat them bad because they judged them on how they look.
2. And yoko showed Ko how muched she loved her by giving her green tea.
3. Well i think its because it wasn't the new year yet.
1. i agree with you how because Mr. Naido has shown Yoko some kindness, she has shown him some kindness. I also think that in a way they need each other, they need someone to be nice to them.
3. I think that he didn't because there were some many people that came from across the sea's that if he did there wouldn't be anymore money for the city.
That makes total sense. He is so happy with Yoko because she is the only one who treats him nicely. OH
Nice prespective
I love how you said that she lost pride that made me feel more emotional about the story
He should be on about the ecscapes I mean that is a big deal in my opinion
