The Wave: response #1

1. The book occurs in a school in 1969 where twelfth graders are learning about the inhumane atrocities that were commited by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Since the students are asking questions that don't have answers that can be described in words, their teacher is trying to figure out a way to answer their questions.

2.Some of the ways that this book explains it was not written today are:
a.Smoking. Not as many teenagers just smoke like that. That generation learned it's lesson and taught us the lesson so we didn't follow them and do the same thing.
b.Cafeteria food. Cafeterias don't serve just burgers and fries anymore. Today, Cafeterias are a little more concerned about health issues (although I personally think it's fairly bad for you).
c.Homework. It appears in the book that some of the kids think of homework as optional. Today we have that problem solved with F's for work if you even just turn your homework in a little late.

I think that you should post all of the responses in one post. I will post my comment on the response #3.

Since deadline is near, I'll do it now.
1) The answer you put is very descriptive, because you put what the twelfth graders are learning. Also, some people smoke, but rarely in schools nowadays. As for cafeteria food, they serve burgers but not fries. Go figure. Also, homework isn't optional, the golden days are gone. (just kidding ;) )
