The cat and the flower

One day a cat,
jumped up on
a table next to
a flower pot.
Said the cat to the flower
"Why don't you move?
You must be cramped
With so little room."

"I hate to move,
for then I dry,
and if I dry,
my petals die.
If my petals die,
I wither away.
And so it's in
this pot I stay."

Said the flower to the cat
"How do you walk?
Shouldn't you rather stay locked
up in a nice cozy pot?
otherwise your roots will rot."

The cat then said
"We'll make a trade,
I will sit (If you will walk)
Cramped up, stuck inside your pot."
"I agree." the flower said.
And so the two friends departed,
The flower started to walk the earth,
As the cat covered himself with dirt.

But neither found in the other's life,
much fun, in fact they found much strife.
For it was not to be that way,
and so the two friends met again.
Said the flower "My roots are not,
Made for such a horrid lot,
of walking. Hey I'll bet you'd say,
the same thing about being a bouquet."

"It's quite so." said the cat
"I just can't take all of that.
I get such cramps from sitting, for
I can't talk with my friends on the floor."

Said the cat "This has to end.
so I say good bye my friend,
for now I can live just as I please,
Without catching the sitting disease."

And then the friends parted so fast,
you would think they'd never crossed paths.
And so now the moral says,
that each living thing has it's own place.

I worked hard on this poem and I intend to put more poems and stories on my blog so please tell me what you think of this and what you'd like to see later.
