Illegal Immigration Post #8

Summary: The issue of illegal immigrants and health care reform has drawn considerable attention. During his September 9 address to Congress on health care, President Barack Obama famously declared that "There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms--the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally." The White House subsequently amplified this point, asserting that "undocumented immigrants would not be able to buy private insurance on the health insurance exchange."

Reflection: I think that this is a little bit ridiculous. Obviously, illegal immigrants can't publicly purchase health care, but I'm sure those who really want to get it will forge papers. Also, Mexico has a very similar plan to the one being proposed.
