Poor Scout. Things have been hard for her recently. Dill, in whom, she found a good friend, has left Maycomb County. She felt things would be boring, but the excitement of being able to go to school seemed to make her feel better for a while, but it was all for not. The poor girl hates school as she believes that the rules teacher set down for her are law. Now of course, I'm not going to make her stop reading, it would break her little heart, and on rainy weekends she would drive Calpurnia up the wall with her antics. But it certainly made her nurse a deep grudge against school. I remember her first day, she described it to me in full. She blamed Walter Cunningham for the teacher getting mad at her and got in a fight with Walter Cunningham, which resulted in him coming over for dinner. There she commited her second offense, which I didn't need to even give her a stern look for, as Calpurnia took control of the situation immediately. From what I heard, Calpurnia gave her quite a scolding for questioning his 'mollases methods' if you will. I sure hope things get better for her or she will be a sad, angry little girl.
