"But her death has proven to be a catalyst for me to think about my faith and my life." -Valentino
I think this relates to question #5 because when Tabitha died, I t was almost too much for poor Valentino to bear. If something like that happened to me, I probably wouldn't kill anyone or commit suicide, but I would probably be really sad, sad enough to drink a few beers (as long as I'm old enough). I can't relate to how he's feeling right now.
Valentino must be depressed out of his mind. He doesn't know what to do, where to go, or almost who he is anymore. I feel so sorry for him, because I can't comprehend the terrible pain he must be feeling right now.
Have you ever lost a loved one?
"I wondered if, like William K, I could simply close my eyes and pass away." -Achak
I think this quote relates to question 5 too, because he had walked so far, past borders and through rivers and could not take it anymore. Because it's in his principles not to do it, he can't kill himself, but he wants to just die there like William K. It's sad to see that a character who has traveled so far and been through so much will now lie down and wish for death.
Achak is a fighter, there is no doubt, but I can understand how he feels right now. Every time he walked, he has been promised a new life, promised that the next place they go to will hold everything and they will be presented with wonders beyond their wildest dreams. And now, he's walking to Kenya, nearly blind and feeling like William K, ready to die, for he thinks, 'Why should Kenya be any different?' And sadly, I can understand his feeling of hopelessness, like he isn't going anywhere and will never find peace.
Have you ever felt so tired you just felt hopeless and miserable?

Quote 1:
I like your quote in that it shows how much Valentino loved Tabitha, even thoguh it was really short. I also think that because it was so short, there could have been a lot more that was said.
Question 1:
I don't think anyone in my family that is close to me died yet, but I had a bird once that died.
Quote 2:
I think that this quote is good because it shows how Valentino is contemplating dying, even after all he's been through. I still think that the quote was a little short, because I want to know what was causing him to think about dying.
Question 2:
One day it was really hot outside and I was running and I really wanted to go inside.
Quote 1: Yes Valentino was sad but I mean he has been chill the whole book no matter what happened to him. But at least he wouldn't kill anyone.... (Frietag)
Question: Yes my papa (grandfather) died when I was about 8 and I didn't really understand what was going on but I knew that he wasn't coming back.
Quote 2: I could understand what Achak wanted to do that because no one wants to go through he or Valentino went through. Everyone in this book has a bad story to tell.
Question: Yes I have at baseball because my coach is a marine and he runs us a lot and does a lot of working out.
