What is the What #2

"Five boys had been killed, three immediately and two others whose legs had been shredded by the bombs, were alive long enough to watch the blood leave their bodies and darken the earth" -Valentino

This quote relates to question is number two. I think it relates to number two because Valentino had to avoid those bombs too. It was also a challenge because it would be hard to have to watch this happening to other people and know you can't do anything about it.

I don't really have a personal connection to this quote, but I chose it because it was a signifigant example of what he went through to get to America. I don't think there ever will be a way I can relate to this quote because it's just so intense. I don't think that anyone should have to go through this.

Do you think you would have survived the bombings?

"And so, without any particular relish, one of these men drew his sword and ran it through her. She fell, and the white parts of her dress became red." -Valentino

This quote relates to question number two also. Valentino saw terrible things before coming to America and I don't envy his position. If I saw anything like that, I'd probably have a panic attack.

I think that Valentino is probably mentally scarred because he had to watch these terrible things. And even though he saw these things, he can still smile at people. If I had seen anything like this, I would probably never trust anyone again.

If you saw these things, would you trust anyone?

Quote 1: I think that you chose a good quote because I thought it was very descriptive, like when it described how two boys lost their legs, it didn't say that their legs had been blown apart or destroyed by the bombs. Instead, it said that the bombs shredded their legs, which I thought was very interesting way to describe it.

Question 1: I think i could have survived the bombings, but only if I didn't get hit by any. Even then, I think I would have been killed by the murahaleen afterwards.

Quote 2: I thought this was a good quote because it described how the men had become like animals, and they didn't care who they killed, even if there was nothing they would gain from killing them.

Question 2: I think that I could trust people who I had known very well, but if I met anyone new, then i would be very careful.

Quote: I agree when you said it must be hard to watch your friends die by the bombs and you can't do anything about it. If i had to watch that i would have wanted to die with them because I couldn't have went through that with no one to share my feelings with.

Question: I really don't know if i would have survived the bombing because you can't really tell something like that unless you are superman or something. But if that were to happen to me I would run and run until I know I am safe.

Quote 2: That must have been hard for him again just like the bombings or when everyone was shot or something. But yes I think the way he overcomes those hard times is that he tells his story to everyone because it is so interesting. And that is why he can smile at everyone.

Question 2: I think I would trust people because they would hear my story and they would listen to what I have to say about life. But I wouldn't trust anyone with a gun or sword I don't think anyone will... right?
