Mississippi Trial OP #2

1. I think Grampa is so concerned about putting black kids in the same classroom as white kids, because in 1955, the south was really racist, so he's just going with the flow. Also, he was raised to believe that racism against black people is normal.

2. I think that Hiram didn't do anything when R.C. attacked him because R.C. was a lot bigger and stronger than him, more violent, and had a knife too, so it was hard for him to gather up enough moral courage to stand up to him.

3. I think it might have been R.C. who murdered him, because R.C. had said he was going to go out of town with some friends to "talk" to Emmett about whistling at a white woman. He disappeared the next day, and he has a well known violent streak, so there's ample evidence against R.C.
